End of Summer for 5Racing

The story so far over summer to be fair, is that the sun did not shine. this year has been a stretch on time and resource. The net outcome has been little progress made. Heaps of work to be done in the Engine workshop and more media to wade through than ever. Looks like we need time to bring things back into line and develop new strategies

Oulton park 25/02/11

On Friday 5Racing went to Oulton Park for the first outing of the year. The weather stayed dry and fair, even if a little cloudy the car performed well through the morrning. And gradualy got louder as we have blew a hole in the exhaust near the front. Also I think we may need to change the plugs and leads as they could be wearing out now and not giving the best spark! I hope to get the in car videos uploaded on You Tube this week, just finished getting them all digitised last night but can't finish that off untill I return from Nottingham on Wednesday. To keep you busy until then why not look at our photos on facebook.

Oulton Park. 25 Feb

We are now looking forward to the Track day at the end of this month at Oulton park. It will be the first time out this year for the car, after we had to cancel the trip to Donnington due to the very bad weather. Will this also be the last run out for the car with the standard engine? We will just have to see.

The same was to follow at Aintree and although the weather gave us a few showers good times were made full results can be seen on the Chester & Liverpool MC Speed Championship page.

Changes at 5Racing

Changes at 5Racing

Our 2009 venture has been very sucsessful so far, both car and driver have performed well at all the events and track days we have entered. So whats changed? Well our main sponsor is now RF Interiors And we have had to restructure our events calendar for 2009.

With business and economic climates the way they are we may not be able to enter as many events as we had hoped to this year but we still aim to keep the team performing at a high standard and good spirit!

5Racing goes holy?

At 5Racing we are always looking for simple modifications, and with cold nights and bad weather closing in now here is a little mod that you can try at home. To improve airflow over the radiator we have cut-out 5 holes in the front bumper where the number plate used to be then fitted a strip of mesh on the back to keep out any unwanted stones and fingers! Also we have fitted a nice new Back box just to make sure you can hear us pass you!

Cadwell Park Track Day

I almost cant believe its been a week since we visited Cadwell Park! It was a amazing. All I can say is what a great days action on and off the track! We arrived Saturday after a long drive and setting up camp on a very windy paddock area settled down to the barbecue and a few beers. The Sunday started out dry and windy but the track was still wet and greasy especially where the trees overhang the track. The circuit itself is quite narrow and has some demanding sections. The facility's on site are what you would expect so you can get a bite to eat and a hot drink between the sessions. The vantage points for spectators and photography are spot on, you can also drive round to view areas if the weather is really bad or your not to good on your legs. Our car performed without any problems and the careful preparation paid off again. Everyone had a good day out overall, and we wish to thank all those involved and the people who came along to show support to us and the event.

Anglesey Race Circuit

Over the bank holiday weekend of August 22nd 23rd 24th 5Racing went to a very windy Anglesey race circuit for a track day. We camped on the race track grounds, which was great and saved us a lot of messing about. The track has recently had a lot of ground work done and a new surface, making it great for the drivers and also a good venue for spectators with great views of the whole track!!

The event was well organised and even though the weather was a bit wild, everyone there seemed to have a really good time and there was a great atmosphere. While there we made friends with CADS (Cheshire And District Scoobies) who's members had some stunning examples of the Subaru range. Well done guys we hope to see you again soon.

Visit Anglesey Race Circuit to find out about up coming events....

Hi from all at 5Racing!

We have decided to run this Blog alongside the web site www.5racing.co.uk to enable us to use it like a journal to comment on places we have been to. Also other topics not covered yet on our site

Now our car is set-up and running well (touch Wood) we hope to enter as many events as we can. We will also be looking at upgrading the engine and gearbox, but that's another story!!
